THE LOGISTICS SPECIALIST - INBOUND WILL….
Report to the Manager, International Trade and Logistics and support the execution of logistics functions ensuring that SAXX products are shipped in-full and on-time from factories (SIFOT) and delivered in-full and on-time to customers (DIFOT). Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Logistics Specialist will support strategic projects with the objective of optimizing the transportation of goods from international suppliers to warehouses.
We work in a fast-paced environment, rolling up our sleeves to build something bigger than ourselves. You must be comfortable working within a small and dynamic team, be able to communicate effectively, juggle multiple priorities, proactively solve problems, identify, and communicate risk, and deliver against deadlines. This is a hands-on position which will require the application of strategic thinking and the execution of day-to-day operations. More importantly, you need to be able to integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka don’t take yourself too seriously.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Coordinate and manage first mile logistics (supplier to warehouse) to ensure goods are delivered as economically and efficiently as possible
- Prepare and/or review import documentation, including commercial invoices, packings lists, and certificates of origin
- Track shipments and proactively resolve any issues or delays related to customs clearance, transportation, and delivery
- Optimize freight costs through carrier negotiations, mode selection, and consolidation strategies
- Identify gaps and opportunities in current processes and collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement solutions
- Support with documentation retention and maintaining accurate records of shipments and costs
- Manage relationships with different Logistic Services Providers maintain service level agreements and customs requirements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Production, Sourcing, Operations, Sales, and Finance) and external stakeholders (3PL partners, regulatory bodies, customs brokers, freight forwarders) to ensure the timely delivery of products to maintain service level targets
- Support with the onboarding of new factories, customers, or new sales programs
- Analyze data to identify trends, manage performance and troubleshoot exceptions to manage transportation costs and maximize customer on-time fulfillment
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and vendor guides
- Review, validate and approve logistics invoices for payment and address billing discrepancies with third party vendors, as needed
- Other duties may arise from time to time and as a team, we look to support each other
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a variety of Supply Chain roles with a focus on international logistics and/or warehousing and last mile delivery (experience in retail is an asset)
- Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent
- Broad understanding of Supply Chain end-to-end, including the tools and processes associated with Order Fulfillment and Sales & Operational Planning/Integrated Business Planning, interaction with Logistics providers (internal and 3rd party)
- Ability to think "outside the box", thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under time constraints and deliver results by critical deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and topics
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communication platforms to ensure success of projects while building strong and collaborative partnerships
- Ability to lead through influence, utilize business acumen to determine best course of action and trade-offs, and utilize excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate decisions and resolve conflicts
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000. The final aligned upon salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.
